Anthony Button, born in 1951, a citizen of Oberrieden (ZH) and GB, grew up in England and has been living and working in Switzerland since 1974.From 1977 until 1990, he worked for a major international concern as a management member in the financial sector. He was awarded his BBA diploma (Bachelor of Business Administration) in 1990. After a further 6 years as a consultant in the sector of market development and partly as an English coach for internationally active Swiss companies, he formed the Business English Institute in 1996. Since then, he has been concentrating fully on English for business purposes, initially as an English trainer for management personnel, then, from 2001, as a full-time translator. He has been living and working in the city of Zurich since 1998. Anthony Button describes himself as a 'workaholic', but he enjoys his dedication to his work and his clients. "My job is actually my hobby", he says with pride, "Every mandate is a new challenge and I never know early in the morning what the day is going to bring". His love for languages began very early in life. He wrote his first short story at the age of 7! He usually has a number of translations to handle at the same time, but his principles remain the same – finest quality, determined adherence to delivery times and enjoyment of his work. If he gets time, he is very interested in football, chess and extended walks with his dog "Merlin". |
